Here's a fabulous Chili and Breadsticks recipe (thanks to my friend Carly) for those days when you feel "chili to the bones"
Chili1 lb ground bee/2 onion chopped1 clove garlic, finely chopped2 cans stewed tomatoes, undrained1 can tomato sauce1 T chili powder3/4 tsp ground cumin1/4 tsp salt1/4 tsp pepper1 can kidney beans, undrained1 can pinto beans, undrainedTopping: shredded cheese, sour cream, fritos, whatever else.
Directions: In a skillet cook beef and drain. Sautöe9 onions and garlic with meat. Add everything into a crock-pot. Cook on low for 4-6 hours. Serve with toppings.
Bones (breadsticks)
1 C warm water1 pkg yeast1 tsp Sugar2 T oil1 tsp salt2 1/2 C flour
Directions:Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar and oil, stirring to mix. Add salt. Add flour and mix until dough forms a ball. Add more flour if sticky. Let dough rise 30-40 minutes. Roll dough out and slice into "bones" with a pizza cutter and transfer to baking sheet. Smother in melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and parmesan cheese if you desire. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes until browning.
